FAQs

  • Go to Creativecasting.tv, in the right-hand corner you will find the menu bar, this is

where you will find the Log in / Sign up option.

  • Firstly, you will need to fill out our online registration form and proceed to complete your personal information (address, NI number, contact details) Once completed, it will take you to your profile where you can upload photos and fill out your measurements alongside any other relevant information.

Please fill out your bank details. If you later want to change your bank details, you must email accounts@creativecasting.tv to do so.

  • You need a clear headshot and full-length body photo. The photos on your profile are extremely important and must reflect your current look. They do not need to be professional headshots but do need to be taken with a clear background and good lighting.

  • You need to fill in a list of measurements on your profile. Accurate measurements and clothing sizes are essential for us to book you for jobs as many productions specify specific measurements for costume fittings. If your measurements have changed significantly, please update them ASAP, and remember to upload a recent photo to reflect these changes.

  • There is no upfront fee for joining Creative. However, an annual administration fee (£30 + VAT for adults & £20 + VAT for children) is deducted from your first work payment of each calendar year (running January to December). We also take a 15% commission of each booking.

  • If you would like to set up an account for your child, please do this the same way, using your details (NI number, address, contact details)

If you (parent/guardian) already have an account, you can choose the ‘ADD CHILD’ button on your homepage. You can add as many child accounts to your profile as you want, and they will all be accessed through your singular login.

Important notes: You can only register an email once. If you use the ‘ADD CHILD’ button, all the children’s accounts will be located on the same email. If you create multiple child accounts, separately, you will need a different email address for each profile registered

Creative Casting Profile

  • Go to Creativecasting.tv, in the right-hand corner you will find the menu bar, this is

where you will find the Log in / Sign up option.

  • Each casting call will have a different way of applying. Some castings may ask you to apply on the post, and some may ask you to apply by sending us a message with the information on WhatsApp. Please read the post carefully to ensure you are applying the correct way. We will contact you on WhatsApp to inform you if you have been penciled, booked, or rejected for a job.

Applying For Roles

  • Creative Casting uses WhatsApp to contact you regarding casting calls and other queries. Our WhatsApp number (07966461799) is monitored Monday – Friday 10am – 6pm every day, this is also our number in case of emergencies outside of office hours.

Please make sure you CALL us for urgent queries as WhatsApp messages can sometimes be missed.

  • If you can’t attend a booking for any reason, you must phone to let us know. Numbers to phone; office number (02920107628) within office hours. WhatsApp number (07966461799) if outside office hours.

Please value your booking – every background artist has been carefully chosen for a reason. Dropping out of your booking means you let us down – AND the production. Dropping out without a valid reason may result in you being taken off our books.

Getting In Contact

  • Being penciled means you must keep that date free – if your availability changes and you can no longer attend your booking, PLEASE inform us as soon as you find out.

  • We will contact you via WhatsApp or text when you have been booked for a shoot. You will then be sent your call time, location, and costume requirements the night before the booking. Please always reply to booking and call time texts so we know you have received them.

  • Check your phone as your call time and address will be sent the afternoon/evening before. We do often get the shoot details (call time, exact location) very late the evening before the shoot. If you haven’t heard from us by 9pm the evening before, please contact our emergency number.

Availability, pencils and bookings

  • Bring a water bottle and a flask as most productions are trying to cut down on single-use plastic. Don’t bring any valuables to set – and travel light. Only bring what is essential.

Some studios may require some form of ID upon entry.

  • No makeup or nail polish – unless you have been told otherwise.

If you haven’t been fitted for a costume, production will send us a costume brief the evening before, meaning you will need to bring your own clothes. Please bring a couple of options so that they have a bit of variety to choose from. If for any reason you are unable to bring costume options, please let us know ASAP so that we can inform production.

If you are asked by a costume continuity supervisor to wear the same costume for multiple days on set, you MUST wear the same clothes and hairstyle for every shoot day. Avoid any logos and identifiable prints if you’ve been asked to wear your own clothes to set.

Do not adjust your costume or wig without the Costume Department's approval.

Please follow costume, hair, beard, and makeup instructions properly, this is to ensure you fit the style of the film.

  • Please arrive on time and plan your route well in advance.

When you arrive to set – make sure you inform a crew member of your arrival. They will guide you to where you need to be.

If you are looking for advice, please ring our office number and we can talk you through a usual day on set.

Your Day On Set

  • To get a breakdown of costs, please login to your profile and view your release forms and remittances.

Release forms give you a breakdown of your daily rate and any additional payments for each shoot day. (This does not include the commission or annual admin fee)

Remittances give you the total amount that you will receive after commission and annual admin fee is deducted from your pay.

  • Every Production pays a different rate for a selected number of working hours. Casting Calls will include the day rate and overtime rate for the specific Casting, when applying for a casting, we assume you are happy with the advertised rate as there is no room for negotiation.

  • Commission is taken from each job you do with us and is charged 15% for TV/ Film work and 20% for commercials. Please note that this charge is subject to VAT.

  • Every SA represented by Creative Casting is charged a £30 admin fee every year (+ VAT).

We do not charge this fee until you’ve booked your first job through us; therefore, you will be charged £30 + VAT out of the first job of every year that you book through Creative Casting.

  • Standard Supporting Artists do not receive travel expenses. If you are due to receive travel expenses, you will be notified of this before you are booked.

  • You will be paid via BACS transfer. It can take up to 12 weeks for Productions to send the payment to us, but they are often quicker than this.

All payments will appear on your bank statement as 'Gems Casting Limited'

PLEASE NOTE:  Productions send separate payments for each shoot day, so all your payments for a particular production may not come through to you together.
